Products
This
module defines and maintains Products. Key features:
-
Provides a multi-level (unlimited) Product structure
– have as many Categories, Classes, Groups
and Sub-Groups as required
- Allows
a number of Attributes per product e.g. style,
colour, size, brand, model etc. all user definable
-
Average, last, FIFO and standard cost methods
-
Lot, Serial, and Use By tracking
- User
definable data covering various units of measure,
decimal places for cost, selling price and quantity,
pack sizes, weights and configuration, alternative
products and Suppliers etc
- Automatically
creates inventory items from Product creation

As
can be seen above, apart from Category (ABC Manufactured
Products), Class (Shirts) and Group (Mens Shirts),
there are three Sub Groups. Uniquely, more Sub
Groups could be accommodated if required.
Additionally, Attributes such as Brand, Style,
Colour, Sleeve length, and Size can be accommodated.

Attributes
enable product searches to be undertaken with
limited product knowledge and training. In the
above example a Casal blue T-Shirt with short
sleeves in size 16 can be located without any
product code knowledge.
Additionally,
monitor and track sales without the need to do
additional work via spreadsheets etc as can be
seen in this example:

The
use of Attributes provides an instant analysis
of sales for Mens Shirts in Australia:
-
100% of sales were Classic Brand
-
98% were Polo Style
-
47% were Sleeveless
-
43% were Blue
-
Sizes sold showed an even pattern
The
Attributes provide a better understanding of which
products are selling.
Combine
the structures and attributes with online inventory
ABCD/Ranking (refer Inventory below), and you
have the ability to manage complex inventory requirements
and better manage inventory levels and mix.

and Inventory control
Take
away the majority of the grunt work in producing
Budgets and Forecasts. Let the system do first
pass numbers based on historical sales levels
and patterns and compare it to the previous two
corresponding financial years for sales value,
quantity and margin.
Simply
apply your market knowledge to amend any of sales
value, quantity and/or margin for any period (month)
to incorporate known or expected changes.
Once
you are satisfied save it and the system will
update sales budgets and General Ledger budgets.
Use the budget or forecast for inventory management
in production planning and inventory ordering.
